AWS Innovate 2018

I got a change to attend AWS Innovate 2018 online conference on July 19th 2018. I joined the conference from Melbourne (AU). The conference had 50+ different sessions which were sub-divided into 10 Major categories like IoT, Big Data , AI and Machine Learning etc. The sessions were tagged with difficulty level (100 – 400) from beginner to Advanced.

My Experience?

Since conference had 3 different time slots for AU region so it was easy for me to pick up one even after office time (I picked 20:00 – 00:00) . The lectures were delivered live during that time and after the time slot the lecture became on-demand and live again for following time slots.

Overall the conference was very well structured. However there were certainly streaming issues. During the live lectures we could ask questions and i was happy to received answers straight away.

What’s New ?

Since conference was well organised into broad categories so everyone could pickup the areas of their own interest. I had specific interest into AI and Machine learning so i was focused on that.

I learned about Aamazon Rekognition and Amazon SageMaker .

Amazon Rekognition is very powerful feature from AWS for Video and Picture analysis. It was accompanied by demo where the model was able to extract very useful information from images and video. I definitely recommend anyone who is particularity interested in Video and Picture data extraction.

Amazon SageMaker helps create ML models very quickly and are scale able. You can create your own Model or use pre-build models.

More about conference and on-demand videos can be found on official link.
